Digital particle tracking velocimetry (DPTV) helps measure and calibrate the water velocities. The microspheres are used as flow tracers, PIV tracers, or neutrally buoyant seeding particles for PIV, flow visualization, measurements, or calibrations
The non-invasive video-based measurements makes this method perfect for the Blazka-type swim tunnel design where two glass tubes prevent conventional invasive flow probes
This easy-to-use method is integrated directly into our AutoResp™ v3 and AutoSwim v2 software – calibrating your swim tunnel has never been easier!
Control your swim tunnel motor speed via a DAQ-BT device (not included) directly from your computer using the DPTV functionality. Inside either AutoResp™ v3 or AutoSwim v2, simply click Start tracking to automatically track the spheres at different water velocities. The calibration data file is then saved inside AutoResp™ v3 or AutoSwim v2, so that your swim tunnel is ready to go.
